The THUNDERSTORAGE is QiOn's most advanced high‑density, long‑lasting, self‑contained Battery Energy Storage Solution.
A 6m/20ft BESS completely integrated into a solid proprietary container‑type structure with a power supply capacity up to 3.5MWh, weighing less than 35t, easy for Transport (avoiding 'Exceptional Transport' classification).
Thanks to the integrated proprietary PCS (power conversion system) developed by QiOn, it is possible to charge and discharge up to 2C. It also features an advanced Multi‑voltage System (400/480/690/800/1000VAC).
THUNDERSTORAGE manages off‑peak charging to capitalize on lower energy costs — and can discharge during peak demand to run operations or feed energy back into the grid, preventing blackouts and brownouts. This system allows your business to drastically cut energy costs and help provide grid stability.

Features

Thermal Management

All QiOn battery modules are liquid cooled and heated. The temperature control is managed using the proprietary QiOn Thermal Management System. Q‑TMS®: our patented active thermal regulation system derived from motorsport experience.

Safety & Protection

Integrated FES (Fire Extinguishing System): provides detection, extinguishing, and cool‑down capabilities (CO₂‑free for easy maintenance — no periodic replacement required). UL/CE 9540A fire test compliant. Dynamic HVB (High Voltage Box) to isolate individual racks in case of fault (one HVB per rack).

Reliability & Control Architecture

Module‑level, self‑integrated BMS architecture (no master/slave logic), improving fault tolerance and system availability. Active energy balancing within each rack to maintain uniform SoC/SoH and reduce aging dispersion. High Voltage Box (HVB) with independent controller, enabling robust HV management and enhanced system resilience. Multi‑sensor acquisition architecture supporting advanced monitoring, diagnostics, and control via the proprietary Q‑EMS.

Plug‑and‑Use Solution

Easy to install and fully integrated: all utility components are fully integrated with full access for easy intervention on battery racks. Battery packs and power electronics are delivered pre‑installed and wired — READY TO USE. ALL‑IN‑ONE, AS IT IS.
